During the third day of Eid Al Fitir audience at the Movin Pick Hotel in Beirut-Lebanon were irritably shocked after waiting endlessly without hope for Lebanese singer Suzan Tamim to appear on stage to perform. The concert, which was to be aired live and organized by ART satellite channel, turned out to be a big disappointment according to the monthly magazine Al Shabaka.
After waiting endlessly the announcer for the concert reappeared on stage to announce that the singer will regretfully not perform due to unknown reasons. The fact was when ART called the office of Suzan to organize and agree on the concert the deal was verbal and no written agreement was made. On appearing Suzan discovered that ART were only planning to pay for the musical band and expected her to perform for free as a guest of ART.
The magazine added that even the sum offered was not enough to pay the band let alone the cameraperson making the manager of Suzan turn down the offer. The singer shifted to perform in a concert sponsored by Orbit satellite who offered five times the amount suggested by ART. Despite Suzan’s cancellation ART continued advertising for the concert not knowing how to break the news to its audience. –Albawaba.com
