Egyptian belly dancer Fifi Abdo announced that she will not allow the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt to force her into wearing the hijab (Islamic headdress) if they came into power. She stressed that she will only wear the hijab if she is personally convinced and ready for it.
According to the internet website MBC.net, Fifi stated that she is a devoted Muslim at heart and also strives to do good deeds. She added that if the day comes and she wears the hijab then it would be based on her own desire to do so and not because someone forced her into it.
