Egyptian belly-dancer Fifi Abdo has announced that she has placed a reward of 50 thousand Egyptian pounds on anyone who informs her of the whereabouts of Egyptian actor Midhat Saleh, who supposedly is in hiding after he was convicted to a three-year prison term. Fifi revealed that she had denied all attempts made by several people from the entertainment to make amends with Midhat, stressing that she will not let Midhat off the hook that easily.

According to the London based daily, Al Quds Al Arabi, on his part, Midhat denied going into hiding saying that he is not one to run from his problems, but rather works on solving them and getting them out of his life. Midhat added that he has been trying to settle his differences with Fifi and is hopeful that within a short time, all problems will be resolved and they will once again be the good friends they once were.

It was recently revealed that Midhat and Fifi had finally decided to settle their differences, after over a year of disputes and lawsuits. The two made amends after Midhat paid back Fifi a half of a million Egyptian pounds as a form of settlement and in order to have her drop all charges against him.

Two weeks ago, a Cairo court released the final verdict regarding the case against Saleh and convicted him to a three-year prison term with labor for writing bad checks to Fifi without having a bank balance. The actor had previously filed an appeal for the ruling, but it was denied and he lost the case.

Abdo had previously filed a complaint against Midhat for writing her checks for over half a million Egyptian pounds without having a balance as a payback for money she had loaned him early last year. The court sentenced Midhat to three years of prison for counterfeiting, but he demanded a retrial of the case.

Midhat told the court that he did not take the money from Abdo as a loan but instead it was an investment by her in his new recording studio. Midhat added that every investment has the possibility of loss or gain and that he should not be obliged to cover Fifi's losses.

Fifi had filed the complaint in June 2002 after Midhat refused to pay her back the money by ignoring all her attempts to contact him. Abdo had warned Midhat that she would take him to court if he did not return her money. Midhat had given the dancer three bad checks each for half a million Egyptian pound.

Midhat had filed a second complaint against Fifi for ruining his name and reputation by her false accusations. Midhat demanded three million Egyptian pounds in compensation from the dancer saying it is the least he deserves after are the lies she has been spreading about him to the public. –Albawaba.com
