Lebanese singer Faris Karam hosted a benefit concert for child cancer patients at the American University in Beirut.

The number audiences that attended exceeded all expectations, making the performance significantly successful.

There were emotional moments during the concert, especially when Faris sat on the floor surrounded by a number of children.  They were cheerful when he performed and began singing along with him.

According to the London daily Elaph, Faris declined to speak with journalists at the concert, stating, “This is a charity event and I am not here to perform for the public”.

One of the patients was the granddaughter of music artist Elli Shwairi.  Faris approached the girl, tears running down his face as he began singing “Ayam Al Lulu” (The Days Of Pearls) for her. The song was written by her grandfather Elli Shwairi.

Fairs said his goal was to put smile on the children’s faces during the holiday season.
