ALBAWABA - As more Chinese anime "Donghua" such as Link Click and King's Avatar gain traction globally, one upcoming show is being swept under the rug despite showcasing a set of unique characters and stunning animation sequences.
That anime is none other than "False Memory," a Chinese animated series produced by Studio Tumble and Flint Sugar. It originated as an 18-minute short indie film in 2020, but has gained just the right amount of traction to receive a full-fledged show in 2025!
Take in mind, that despite its official 2025 release, Studio Tumble, and BiliBili still didn't disclose the exact date "False Memory" will premiere on the video-sharing platform.
False Memory: Everyone is missing out on this Chinese anime
The Donghua which is directed by Shuyu Li and Wen Yu Liu will be produced and broadcast on China's video-sharing platform, BiliBili. Studio Tumble, the animation studio behind "False Memory" is a force to be reckoned with as it worked on several renowned projects including League of Legends and Persona, as mentioned by YouTuber 'NeedMoBo.'
Moreover, the studio also ventured into the Japanese anime industry and worked on other notable projects including key animations for Ufotable's Demon Slayer, Blue Giant, and more.
While its collaborations with renowned studios are impressive, Studio Tumble's best works are the short films it produced across the years including "Alita's Tale," "A Bed Time Tale," "Colors," and "False Memory," further showcasing its expertise in animation through storytelling, sakuga (a term used for good animation in Japanese), sound and, color.

According to a translation made by MyAnimeList, BiliBili's synopsis of "False Memory" is:
"In order to go back to the past, Guan Chao tries hard to find the "burning stone" that activates the time gun, but accidentally falls into the Memory Management Bureau.
