Consultations are currently underway between an Egyptian concert contractor and the Lebanese singer Fairouz to perform few concerts during the summer months in Cairo. Artistic sources confirmed Fairouz’s acceptance of the idea, according to the UAE daily al Bayan.
Despite the secrecy surrounding the affair particularly the sum of money, which Fairouz will obtain for each concert, some observers confirmed that she would obtain $US 150,000 for each concert in addition to residence costs and air passage tickets.
Fairouz will perform three concerts with one of them to be on the open theater in the Pyramids area and the second at the open hall in Nasr City. The site for the third concert has not been determined by the contractor yet but most likely will be in Alexandria.
It is known that Fairouz has not sung in Cairo since mid eighties as she faced some problems with one of the concert contractors at that time without getting her pay in full -- Albawaba.com
