If you've been following up on Saad Lamjarred and his curious court case in Paris, then you'll want to know that he has met up with Morocco's King Mohammed VI in France on May 4.

The 32-year-old Moroccan singer's parents joined the meeting, which reportedly lasted for 20 minutes, according to the news website "Goud."

The same source claims that Saad "insisted on meeting with the King." Could it be because he wanted to thank him for personally appointing world-renowned lawyer, Eric Dupond-Moretti, as his lawyer?

Indeed. Saad had a lot to be grateful for, namely for the King's interest in his case, for quickly responding to his worried parents while he was in prison, and for appointing the Royal Palace's lawyer to clear his name.

According to Moroccan news website "Chouftv," "the meeting was held following mediations by the lawyer of the royal palace who followed up on Lamjarred’s case following his arrest in France."

Moretti's client is currently out on bail as he awaits trial for allegedly raping 20-year-old Laura Prioul in October 2016. He is under electronic surveillance until his trial.
