ALBAWABA - Lebanese superstar Elissa showed her fans that she is still supporting her Moroccan friend, famous singer Saad Lamjarred, after he was sentenced to six years in jail for rape.
After Lamjarred was convicted of raping a French woman, fans asked Elissa to delete a popular duet between the two singers.
But Elissa reaffirmed to her fans that she still supports Lamjarred, insisting that she believed he is innocent.
To make her point, Elissa sang the duet of her and Lamjarred, "Men Awel Dakika," Arabic for from the first moment, in a recent concert. She even put a Lamjarred video on a screen behind her on stage. The song was the same as the one she was asked to delete.
Many considered Elissa performing the song as a clear response and confirmation that she supports the rape convict and that she believes he is innocent.
