Egyptian actress Elham Shahin has been nominated by director Mohammad Abu Yousef for the leading role in a new film "Cholesterol Free". The actress is to play the role of a handicap who strives to make something out of her life.
According to the London based Elaph, Elham has visited a number of institutes for the treatment of the handicap to better understand her role and present it with the highest standards. In the film, Elham is a forty year-old lady but who has the mind of 10 year-old and eventually she marries and has a son.
Recently, Egyptian actress Nadia Al Jundi waged a sever attack on Elham publicly on the Lebanese TV channel Future, where she was a guest on the show "Khaleek Bil Bait" (Stay at Home), presented by the Lebanese announcer Zahi Wahbi. Elham, who was outraged with Nadia's comments, decided to fire back and stated to the media that it's probable that Nadia would attack her just to attract attention since she has been without work for the past two years, in other words stressing that she has nothing better to do.
Elham noted that Al Jundi did not get five prizes for her movie "Alragbah" (Desire), stressing that the movie had participated in three festivals in which both of them won two prizes, adding that she won the most important prize which was best actress in the national festival of Egyptian cinema, the thing that made Nadia very angry and jealous.
Elham continued that in Ishtar movie festival, Nadia's movie was not shown because it was held in customs and despite that she got a prize. Elham added “in the same festival I was honored alongside with my colleague Mahmoud Abdul Azeez. The question here is that Nadia claims that she got two prizes in that festival, well the first prize was given to her without showing her film which is a very strange thing to happen and then I wonder what was the second prize for?!”
Elham said that Nadia came to her house with the script asking her to participate in the movie "Al Ragbah" because she wanted a prominent actress to make the film succeed. She added that she had a leading part in the movie and not a secondary one, and she was nominated as best actress on that part so its not logical that she would be given such prize for a secondary part. About the reasons why Nadia wanted her in the movie, Elham said that Nadia was facing trouble especially after the failure of Nadia's latest movie "Pono Pono.
Zahi had Nadia in his show for two hours where he asked her many question regarding her beginnings and her marriages and many other issues including her dispute with Elham Shaheen.
Disputes had broken out once more between Elham and Nadia over the new TV series “Nijmet Al Jamaheer” (Super Star) Elham is taking part in. Nadia claims that the film is about her and tackles her life since she is the one who won the award for number one actress.
Elham expressed that the film has nothing to do with Nadia and the latter has no right to argue such a case. The film revolves around the life of an actress who has reached top stardom, but throughout her journey of success encounters several problems that end her career and life at the end.
