ALBAWABA - Elçin Sangu and Yunus Özdiken continue legal battles despite dismissed complaint.

Elçin Sangu, an actress, and her partner, Yunus Özdiken, are still in court talks after their recent criminal complaint about online and media stories was thrown out. In June, the couple put in a protest saying that some news stories on social media and in the newspaper were negative and false about them. They demanded the punishment of those they believed were disseminating false information.

The prosecutor reviewed the application, though, and chose not to proceed with the case because the posts and news stories were protected by press freedom and public commentary. Sangu and Özdiken tried to change the decision, but the court stuck to the first decision and turned down their appeal. The court also dismissed a similar charge from last winter.

In those reports, there was talk of an ongoing legal dispute involving a claim of financial disagreement made against Sangu by a person who was called a master craftsman. Sangu and Özdiken have always said they did nothing wrong and said the news coverage was inaccurate.

In other news, it was revealed that Yunus Özdiken got a one-month protection order against a journalist in October because he was afraid of being harassed and fought with before a court meeting. The order is no longer valid. The order made it harder for the reporter to write about Sangu and Özdiken. Özdiken said that the measure was needed for safety reasons.

The journalist and Özdiken are said to have met at the premiere of the movie Uykucu last month, but there was no physical fight. Both sides have said that they plan to keep going after this through the court system.

The legal problems between Sangu and her boyfriend are still getting a lot of attention, especially on social media, where the actress has a lot of fans. As of now, neither Sangu nor Özdiken has said anything new in public after the latest court ruling. In the coming months, there will likely be more hearings about the larger civil cases.
