The Egyptian script Al Manfi (Exiled) by Atef Hatata, the director of the more than 10 international prize winning film Al Abwab Al Mughlakah (Closed Doors) has won the French Amyan 21st Festival award, according to the daily Al Ahram.
The festival head John Garcia and the Moroccan festival script committee chairman Nooriddin Sayel announced in the ceremony held at Amyan cinema culture palace the winning of the Egyptian script Al Manfi (Exiled) by Atef Hatatah. In addition to that the Iranian script Truck by Camposia Partovi and the script Whisky from Uruguay written by Pablo Stool and Juan Pablo Ritila and the French script Little Lightening by Sayyed Khalifa were also announced as winners.
18 scripts entered the contest for the prizes, each of which amounted to 50,000 French Franks. Among the Arab countries, which participated along with Egypt, were Lebanon, Palestine and Algeria – Albawaba.com
