Egyptian actor Hamdy Al-Sakhawi dies age 61

The Egyptian actor Hamdy El Sakhawy has died at the age of 61 on Monday evening due to a heart attack.

Momen El Sakhawy – the actor's son – reported that his dad performed the afternoon prayer after which he settled into his chair in the living room for a while. After the family noticed El Sakhawy had remained unusually quiet for some time, they were grieved to discover the man had passed away from a heart attack.

The funeral ceremony for El Sakhawy was held at "Alsabah" mosque in the "Alharam" area and he was buried at the family cemetery in "Masr Elgedeedah".

The Egyptian actor was born July 1955 and he was very famous for playing numerous roles as a foreigner given his western appearance. He is known for movies such as Boushkash, The Yacoubian Building, El Sayed Abo El Araby Wasal and El labess.
