The Production Department at the Egyptian Radio and TV Union has allocated a hefty budget of 30 million pounds to produce three films and three series on the 1973 Egypt’s victory over the Israeli aggression.
At least some of the new productions will be released during next October, according to the daily al Hayat.
The three films include Dignity Day to be directed by Ali Abdel Khaleq with a budget of four million pounds. The film will be screened at the Radio and TV Festival, which will kick off on June 6 and will be screened at 40 venues after the festival is wrapped up.
The second film being geared up for now is High Commander in which a large number of cinema stars take part. The film costs amount to 10 million pounds while the budget for the third film Jerusalem ranges between 4-5 million pounds. The sets of Jerusalem and al Aqsa mosque will be used for the series Colored Beads.
Three series to tackle the Egyptian and Arab strife will also be produced to point out the truth about the Arab Israeli conflict. The first series is Thunderbolt which will cost five million pounds and in which Hussein Fahmi has been nominated to costar along with Mahmoud Hemaidah. The second one Ghosts will depict an Egyptian intelligence operation against Israel with a total cost reaching five million pounds.
The third series Colored Beads based on the story of writer Mohammed Salmawi will cost four million pounds. This series will tackle the Palestinian issue -- Albawaba.com
