Dubai’s royals ring in the New Year with fireworks and glamour

Dubai welcomed the New Year in it's trademark 'grand' style with spectacular fireworks display across the city, from the iconic Burj Khalifa in Downtown Dubai to Burj Al Arab in Jumeirah.

Among the millions gathered in the city, including UAE residents and tourists - the emirate's royal family was also present the famous landmarks.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler's children took to Instagram to share videos and photos of the New Year fireworks that lit up Dubai's skies that night.

His Highness Shaikh Hamdan, the Dubai Crown Prince, recorded an Instagram story of Burj Khalifa gearing up for the show, indicating that the young Prince rang in the New Year in Downtown Dubai.

Meanwhile, Shaikh Mohammed's daughter, Shaikha Laitfa, celebrated the New Year at the Dubai Mall for the Burj Khalifa firewoks display. 

The year 2016 was special for Latifa as she got married to a member of the Ras Al Khaimah royal family, Faisal Qasimi.

Another daughter, Shaikha Maryam, chose to celebrate in Jumeirah- near Burj Al Arab. 

The royal member treated herself to a leisurely cruise around Dubai on the first day of the New Year. 

Shaikh Mansoor, one of the Ruler's sons, stayed away from the Downtown crowd and enjoed the fireworks from a nearby building on Shaikh Zayed Road. 

The siblings wished their followers, UAE residents and the world a happy new year and positivity.
