Controversial Egyptian belly-dancer Dina is currently preparing for a new film to by directed by music video director Mohammad Saeed, who had nominated Tamer Hajris for the leading male role. Dina refused to give out any details regarding the new film until she begins shooting the first scenes.
According to the London based weekly, Laha, Dina revealed that the film is full of surprises and will feature a number of dance performances. Dina had recently announced that she will open a new page in career, especially after all the lost time with the recent pornographic CDs scandal she was involved in with her ex-husband.
a Cairo’s appeals court has postponed the verdict in the case against Egyptian businessman Hussam Abu El Fotooh, ex-husband of Dina. Hussam, who is accused of producing pornographic CDs of Dina and other women he had been intimate with, had filed an appeal of a previous verdict of a jail sentence of one year with hard labor.
The court has set a date in April for the hearing, in which a final verdict will be made. In a shocking and unexpected move Dina had decided to drop all charges against her ex-husband, who was the cause of the biggest scandal that hit Egyptian society the past couple of years. The dancer had made her announcement at the appeals court in saying that she does not wish to press charges against Hussam for violating her personal life.
Dina also testified that the pornographic CD, which featured her and Hussam in a very intimate situation and was seeped out to the public and on the internet, was in fact filmed in his home and office in London, which was the claim of Hussam’s defense attorney.
Hussam’s attorney in turn demanded that the case be dropped, especially after Dina made her testimony, and added that the pornographic scenes were filmed abroad and an Egyptian court cannot determine if such actions are legal or not in London.
