She vowed to never attend another Met Gala after a seemingly awkward run-in with Nicki Minaj at the event in 2016.
And Demi Lovato has opened up about the night, revealing she had such a bad experience that she was driven to attend an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting straight after the glitzy New York fashion event.
'I had a terrible experience,' Demi told Billboard for her cover issue.
The 25-year-old Sorry Not Sorry singer continued: 'This one celebrity was a complete b**** and was miserable to be around. It was very cliquey. I remember being so uncomfortable that I wanted to drink.'
'And I related more to the homeless people in that meeting who struggled with the same struggles that I deal with than the people at the Met Gala -- fake and sucking the fashion industry’s d***.'
Demi doesn't name Nicki in the interview but it's safe to assume she's talking about the Anaconda hitmaker after their uncomfortable run-in went viral the day after the Met Gala.
The rapper posted a red carpet photo from the night, showing her, Moschino designer Jeremy Scott and Demi but failed to tag or mention the songstress.
Shortly afterwards Demi shared her own photo from the night, this time showing Nicki giving Demi some serious side-eye with Scott standing awkwardly in the middle.
'This picture pretty much summed up my first and probably last met #cool #sof---ingawkward #notforme #sweatpants #forensicfiles #whatsgood,'
Her last hashtag referred to Nicki's infamous 'Miley, what's good?' that she said on stage at the VMAs.
Later Demi wrote on Snapchat 'When you aren't mentioned in a post but didn't do s*** to the other person.'
Later on she tried to make light of the awkward photo, writing: 'p.s. some of y'all need to learn how to take a joke.. I'm obviously laughing at the fact that 1. I look incredibly awkward and 2. That the shade being thrown in this picture actually gives me life.'
Talking about the friends she feels she can be completely comfortable around, Demi names Ariana Grande as one of her favorite chill-out buddies.
'The people that aren't willing to chill with you at home are the type of people that just want to be seen with you,' she said.
Of pal Iggy Azalea Demi dished: 'She's super low-key; she doesn't drink or party. She has struggled a lot. "No money, no family, 16 in the middle of Miami." That lyric explains a lot of her story. She's very outspoken, and sometimes it can turn people off. But that's one of the reasons I love her. She's not the type of person who lies to you.'
