Last week, rumors started to erupt in Lebanon for the delay in releasing Haifa Wahbi's latest musical video "Ahwak" (I Adore You), according to the London-based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat.
The video was said to have included exciting and other public morals violating scenes that cannot be permitted by the censors. As some rumors said that the video is still held by the concerned authorities, others talked about problems between Haifa Wahbi and Rotana Production Company.
For his part, Rotana's manager for musical affairs, Tony Saman said, "the musical video has not been yet sent to the public security department. It is a shame to hear rumors targeting a well known production company, which has produced thousands of decent and excellent works."
"The video was aired by the exclusive copyright owner, ART, and Rotana is in the process of dispatching it to the public security department to secure an official license for airing it by the Lebanese local channels," added Saman.
Director Salim Al Turk shot the video, co-starring Saleem Turk, in Lebanon. Many critics said that Wahbi's music style is easily distinguished from other singers, using her seductive voice as a mean to attract her audience.
The young singer told the newspaper that she has been the victim of an unknown person, who has been fighting her without any known reason. She noted that rumors have been surrounding her in every movement she makes, adding that it is a sad thing to hear people saying the video was banned for inclusion of immoral scenes.
Responding to a question whether there have been any outstanding problems between her and Rotana Haifa said, "not at all. The whole thing is that I reproach them for the delay in airing the video in Lebanon." - Albawaba.com
