Egyptian actress Dalal Abdel Aziz is gearing up for a surprise to her audience by playing the role as blind Haggah Nazagah who practices magic and fortune-telling in the series al Bashkar directed by Mahmoud Bakri and costarring Rania Farid Shawki and Kamal Abu Rayyah.

“In order to play the role as a blind lady who practices magic and augury, I go daily to a doctor’s clinic to learn how blind people move and gathered all the medical information on them including how they move their eyes and their shape. I also go to a fortuneteller to learn from her magic and augury. I have learnt a lot including what they say and how they speak, perform to gain the upper hand on people,” Abdel Aziz told the daily al Gomhuria.

She added, “I am now living the art maturity phase and feeling responsibility towards the audience particularly in view of the fact that I have recently played more than unique and new characters which were acclaimed by the viewers. The last role of these was in the series Hadith al Sabah Wa al Masaa (Morning and Evening Speech) in which I played roles as characters of different ages.”

In cinema, Abdel Aziz is gearing up for the film Maali al Wazir (His Excellency the Minister) along with film star Ahmed Zaki. She also reviews the role as Shagarat al Dorr in the series al Thaher Baibers under the direction of Shireen Qasem.

“I dream of playing the role of Cleopatra which was offered to me as they wanted to present it at Alexandria Library Commemorations. I don’t know what has happened afterwards. I was tapped for the role by an Italian director who was nominated to direct the series. This director is the grandson of Antonio, Cleopatra lover, who said when he saw my picture that I look like her to a great extent,” said Abdel Aziz -- Albawaba.com
