Controversial rocker-actress Courtney Love has filed a lawsuit against her boyfriend's ex-wife, Lesley Barber, alleging that, among other things, she attacked Love with a Volvo.

Love says in the lawsuit that after she hooked up with Geffen Records executive Jim Barber, she became the "victim" of Lesley Barber's "20-month campaign of stalking," according to the New York Daily News.

The paper says that Love claims she was physically threatened by Lesley Barber, who vowed to burn down Love's house and to frame her for drug possession.

Furthermore, Love says Barber ran her down with a Volvo on June 4, driving over her foot, according to the Daily News.

Love had been planning to star opposite Ice Cube in the sci-fi thriller John Carpenter's Ghosts of Mars, but she was dropped from the cast after the injury, thus losing her $500,000 payment. At the time, Variety magazine reported that the injury resulted from her physical training for the part.

The Hole leader recovered from the injury, and the bump in her pursuit of movie-stardom, and has since been cast as the leading lady in the planned period piece Hello Suckers.

Love is dealing with her own lawsuit, filed against her by the production company of the indie film Beat. That suit charges the vocal actress with infliction of emotional distress, among other, more standard breach-of-contract issues. – Albawaba.com.
