The Child Film Festival organized by the Palestinian Cinema Production Center in collaboration with the EU representation office in the Palestinian town of Jenin, according to the UAE daily Al Bayan.
Jenin’s mayor, Abu Mwais, told a group of children and their parents who came to attend the festival held at the municipality’s Aqsa hall, “the decision to organize the child’s festival has come as part of the series of events which the municipality will implement in collaboration with many corporations. These events aim at alleviating as much as possible the suffering of children as a result of the Israeli occupation actions.’’
“The participation in providing children with entertainment facilities is important,” said Abu Mwais calling every body to continue efforts to organize festivals and other activities, which alleviate children suffering. He added that Jenin municipality has set a policy for children community development through youth male and female centers.
The theatrical festival show entitled Al Loa’ba (Game) which depicts the Palestinian status quo under the Israeli siege was the first show to be staged. Then the film Our Sir translated from Japanese was screened.
The festival shows will continue throughout Ramadan directly after the Iftar (breaking fast) at Jenin Municipality hall – Albawaba.com
