Algerian Rai star Cheb Khaled participated in a concert in favor of peace in the Middle East and in the world, held Saturday in the Italian city of Rome, according to the daily al Hayat.
This musical evening took place in the Coliseum , the greatest and most famous amphitheater of the antique Rome, also gathered several world stars of music, dance and song, among whom the American Ray Charles, the Palestinian Nabil, the Israeli Noa, the Argentinean Mercedes Sousa and the Italian dancer Carla Fracci. Starting with one of his great success, Aicha, in French and in Arabic, Khaled greatly charmed and impressed the 500 privileged hand picked to have access to a very coveted invitation.
In a short statement to the public, Khaled notably indicated that his presence to this concert in a so prestigious site ”is a peace message, a peace which is so needed mainly in the present time.”
Ray Charles sings one of his greatest tubes Georgia, the duo formed for the circumstance by Noa and Nabil to sing the famous Centro Del Mondo, and the ballet for peace danced by about ten girls gave all the measure to this concert destined to peace.

This concert called Time of Live coincided with the holding in Rome of a-three-day- international meeting gathering mayors of twenty European, American , Asian and African capitals.
The Rome mayors, Walter Veltroni, who was the main organizer explained that this meeting aims at favoring the setting up of peace in the world through “the construction of a new socio-economic equilibrium involving a revision of leading axes globalization.” – Albawaba.com
