Lebanese singer Carol Samaha just finished filming her song “Yama Layali” (So Many Nights) in the form of a video clip and will have it ready for launch on different music channels in the very near future. Carol sang her new song in the Egyptian dialect. The words for the song are written by Muhammad Jumah, composed by Muhammad Rahim and distributed by Tamim and Hovaness K. Recoding took place in Paris at the ‘Lab Studio Trans’.
For the third time, Carol chose French director Thierry Vergnes to direct her clip. The French director previously worked with Carol on her duet with the Lebanese singer Marwan Khoury on the song “Ya Rab” (Oh God) and the song “Za’ltini” (You Made Me Mad). The filming of the new clip lasted for 24 hours of continuous and hard work.
The new clip will feature Carol in a new and different style. The French director wanted to show Carol as an innocent, romantic and filled with dreams person.
In the new clip Carol plays the role of a bride to be on the night before her wedding, where she’s living the fantasy of preparing for every step up until she wears her white dress and meet her love.
According to the London daily Elaph, the decor for the clip involved a large number of decorators and took five days to plant a forest in the studio to bring out a fairytale like clip. The clip’s scenes were all filmed in the forest, because it was a mix between fantasy and reality. This kind of style is what makes the French director’s work so unique and talented. The director says that he chose a fake forest inside a studio despite the fact that the filming was in Lebanon, because the weather is still cold and he didn’t want Carol to get sick.
Carol is still performing her play “Queen Zanoobia” on a weekly base and needs to be in good health to do so. The director also adds that making a look alike forest in a studio gives him control in order to make it suitable for the clip.
In the clip Carol starts the first scene by waking up from her sleep and she seems innocent like a mermaid in a forest filled with beds and dreams there is a mystery to the new life that she’ll be going into. She is very happy throughout the clip, where she is seen with her sister combing her hair and then she is dancing with little children. Afterward at the end of the clip Carole is seen wearing her white dress getting ready to meet her love.
