Earlier this month, Lebanese singer/actress Carol Samaha and Egyptian actor Ahmad Al Saqa appeared as guests on the entertainment show “Al Araab,” hosted by Nishan.
Al Araab (the discoverer) of Ahmad Al Saqa is his father who is a well-known director. Al Saqa’s father was one of the pioneers to put the basis of arts in the Egyptian theaters and he gained many awards in his field.
According to the London daily Elaph, Al Araab for Carol Samaha is musician Osama Al Rahabani. Samaha says that she preceded Al Rahabani family and Osama Rahabani believed in her talents and followed her theater work through her university studies. The first singing work for Samaha was “Lazem Ghair Nitham” (There Should Be Another Ruling). When NIshan asked Carol to sing her first song, Carol couldn’t remember the words even though she sang for Azar Habib.
When the guests talked about acting and the cinema, Ahmad talked about his latest cinema work “Al Jazira” film. He added that he thanks the famous Egyptian actor Mahmoud Yasin, because he brought so much energy to all those around him and he was very loyal and honest toward his work. Carol on the other hand, said that she enjoyed working in theater on the play “Zanobia” and she hopes to get more theater roles that are effective and have goals. Carol didn’t have much cinema experience; she says that her film “Baher Al Nojoom” (The Sea Of Stars) was more of a musical performance than acting.
Carol thinks that the Lebanese cinema is still very weak and she’s not adventurous in the cinema, but she is in art and music.
Nishan asked his gusts what they thought of the matter that the famous Lebanese singer Fairouze having her play “Sah Al Noum” (Good Morning) being played out in Syria? Ahmad said that even though both Syria and Lebanon are having troubles, yet the famous singer is trying easy up the tensions between the two countries.
Carol was the star of the show and she went up on stage many times singing her beautiful and classical songs.
