Can Thunderbolts* save Marvel? Trailer receives praise from fans
By the time of writing this article, Thunderbolts*'s trailer nearly garnered 10 million views on YouTube and around 400,000 likes against 18,000 dislikes which is pretty good for a Marvel trailer. One YouTube user wrote, "Finally a trailer that isn't disliked into oblivion."
According to Culture Crave on X (formerly known as Twitter), Scarlett Johanson who is the former Black Widow is working on the movie as an executive producer giving fans hope that she might be steering the project in the right direction.
On the other hand, some fans expressed their dissatisfaction with Taskmaster's outfit despite Marvel basing it on actual comics from 2002 UDON. Others were confused about why the studio decided to go with a female instead of a male since Taskmaster has always been male in the comics.
Thunderbolts* will hit movie theaters on May 2, 2025.
Why did Marvel fans dislike newer projects after The Avengers: Endgame?
(She-Hulk / Marvel and Disney+)
Many fans express their discontent with a studio in different ways whether by disliking a trailer, voicing their concerns and complaints on social media, or straight up making reviews on how horrible they think it is.
Marvel hasn't had the best reputation over the years as fans of the universe felt like both the studio and Disney were trying to feed them a specific agenda or woke propaganda from shows including the notorious She-Hulk.
Moreover, fans seemed burnt out on the hero genre because Marvel kept pumping many of them each year as they sacrificed quality in writing and production due to time constraints leaving their VFX team allegedly overworked and tired.
It was not all bad in recent years as Marvel did redeem itself with Loki and the final Guardians of the Galaxy movie.
