A British police spokeswoman has declared that the late Egyptian actress Suad Hosni committed suicide, stating that investigations into her death last June ruling out a theory that the actress was murdered, Al Ahram daily said.
The spokeswomen said that the forensic court is scheduled to issue its final decision on Friday.
Arab cinema's Cinderella, died at the age of 57 after she fell from the balcony of her friend Nadia Yusri’s department in the sixth floor of a building in the Maida Vale district of London on June 21.
A number of Egyptian artists have filed a suit with the Egyptian prosecutor general accusing the host of murdering the actress, an Egyptian source in the judiciary branch was quoted by the paper as saying in a previous report.
However, other reports have suggested that Hosni was suffering of depression and anxiety caused by medications she took in ten years of living with a disease in the spinal column, which left her paralyzed.
One week before her death, the late actress was staying with Yusri at the latter’s apartment on the sixth floor of Stewart Tower in west London.
The Egyptian artists refused to accept the story that Hosni committed suicide because, they said, she had been always an optimistic lady.
The artists pointed to reports that there had been a brawl and screaming 15 minutes before Hosni plunged from the apartment’s balcony.
“The head of the late artist was found almost shaved, and one of her shoes was found in the bathroom and the other at the window, facts that rule out the idea of suicide,” the plaintiffs said.
