She might be one of the world's most beautiful women, but bags under the eyes, generous love handles and a receding hairline are no barrier to love for Isabella Rossellini.
The actress and model, now embarking on a new career as a businesswoman, says that when it comes to men, a well rounded mind counts for more than well rounded pecs.
"Us women are so much kinder and sweeter than men," she told a totally charmed audience at Hong Kong's Foreign Correspondent's Club (FCC).
"We don't love you for the way you look. We love you the way you think. So don't worry about the bags."
That message went down well with an audience of journalists, lawyers and PR people that had more than its fair share of curves in the wrong places.
But some of Rossellini's former paramours, who include film director Martin Scorsese and the British actor Gary Oldman, might have been a little put out by the quip that followed.
"If you've seen my husbands or lovers, you'll know I don't go for beauty."
Rossellini, 48, was in Hong Kong to promote Manifesto, a cosmetics line she has spent the last three years developing after famously being dropped as the public face of Lancome cosmetics and beauty products. AFP.
