ALBAWABA - In his next film, "Gawker," Ben Affleck will play the role of Hulk Hogan, a prominent figure in American professional wrestling.

In the upcoming film Gawker, Ben Affleck will play the role of Hulk Hogan. Matt Damon will co-star with Ben Affleck in the starring roles.

Hollywood heavyweight Ben Affleck is gearing up for a critical career milestone. According to PWInsider's reporting, Affleck will portray the storied American professional wrestler Hulk Hogan in a film project named Gawker. This movie will center on the infamous lawsuit that Hogan took out against the now-defunct Gawker website.

William Randolph Hewitt won an Oscar for writing Gawker. Ryan Holiday wrote and released Conspiracy: Peter Thiel, Hulk Hogan, Gawker, and the Anatomy of Intrigue in 2018, which served as the source material for the screenplay. The book details the lawsuit Hogan filed against Gawker, leading to the website's shutdown.

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's production company, Artist Equity, will produce the film. Ben Affleck will portray Hulk Hogan, while Matt Damon will portray Peter Thiel, the former CEO of PayPal. Thiel is well known for covertly funding Hogan's case against Gawker.

The video chronicles the legal proceedings that commenced in 2012 following the release of Hogan's sex tape excerpts by Gawker. Heather Clem, a friend of Hogan's and Love Sponge's husband Bubba, co-starred in the 2007 video. After suing Gawker following this revelation, Hogan received $115 million in compensation in 2016, leading to the closure of the website.

We expect the Gawker film to begin production in 2025. Despite the lack of formal permission, we anticipate launching the project shortly. Chris Hemsworth's portrayal of Hulk Hogan was previously planned for a Netflix biography. Nevertheless, Hogan revealed in 2023 that Netflix would not go forward with this project.

Hulk Hogan is maybe Ben Affleck's most intriguing performance to date; he had previously been in films like Gone Girl, The Town, and Argo. In addition to Hogan's biography, the film touches on significant topics including media ethics, privacy, and free speech.

Both the film's director and its release date remain unknown at this time. But with an Oscar-winning screenwriter penning the script and the Affleck-Damon combo producing, Gawker is sure to be a hit in Hollywood. Do you have any opinions?
