Syrian actor Basel Khayat has revealed that he is suffering from the hereditary inflammatory disorder known as Mediterranean Fever (FMF).
According to Wikipedia, FMF is an "auto-inflammatory disease caused by mutations in Mediterranean fever gene, which encodes a 781–amino acid protein called pyrin."
Basel said that the rare disease causes him pains in his stomach, joints and head.
The 39-year-old talented actor assured his fans that FMF does not endanger his life, adding that its symptoms increase when the body is overworked or exhausted.
Basel is currently filming a new TV series called "30 Days," which will be released during Ramadan in May.
