Iraqi authorities have given the green light for the construction of the country's first cinema production city in Baghdad, the weekly Nabd Al Shabab reported.
The Baghdad municipality has offered a 40-hectare (100-acre) lot of land in the Rashidiya region in the north of the capital for the project, the paper said.
An official at the Iraqi department of cinema and theater said a plan of action was already underway for the launch of the first phase of the project, which stipulates the construction of a production studio.
The paper did not specify the cost of the project -- AFP
