The Bachelor is back with a new season and a new leading man: Joey Graziadei, a 28-year-old tennis instructor from Pennsylvania.
On Monday night, Joey met 32 women who are vying for his heart, and he had to make some tough decisions on who to keep and who to send home.
The premiere episode was full of surprises, drama, and romance, as Joey got to know the women through their limo arrivals, cocktail party conversations, and first kisses. Some of the memorable introductions included Allison, who brought a pizza for Joey to share; Jess, who wore a wedding dress and veil; and Lauren and Allison, who are sisters and both competing for Joey’s love.
Joey also had a familiar face among the women: Lea, who he met during The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose. Lea received a mysterious card from the host, which gave her the power to steal a one-on-one date from any other woman before hometowns. However, Lea decided to throw the card in the fire, saying that she didn’t need it if she and Joey were meant to be.
Joey was impressed by Lea’s gesture, and he gave her the coveted first impression rose, saying that he felt a strong connection with her. He also kissed her, making her the first woman to receive a rose and a kiss from Joey.
At the end of the night, Joey had to eliminate five women, leaving 27 hopefuls in the running. He said goodbye to Amanda, Brooke, Hailey, Nicole, and Rachel, who were all in tears as they exited the mansion.
The Bachelor Season 28 will continue next week, as Joey and the women embark on their first group and individual dates. Fans can expect more drama, twists, and romance, as Joey gets closer to finding his true love.
