Prominent Syrian singer Asalah Nasri is accused of copying singers from the gulf and trying to take their fans by singing in the Khaliji accent. Asalah revealed that she sings khaliji songs because the words express the sorrow she feels deep in her heart and that’s why she is fascinated with the gulf poets like Haza' Bin sultan, Prince Bader Bin Abdulmuhsen, and many others.

About repeating the same ideas in her clips and copying Latifa and Samira Sa'eed in her latest video clip [Gamarhom Kilahom] Asalah said that all video clips became repeated but the most important thing is to add your own touch to the clip which makes it special and different.

The idea of Asalah's video clip was that she is a famous singer and her husband gets jealous of her fans so she decides to sing him the song. Asalah says that this situation happens to her in real life but she learned how to deal with the situation and became more experienced in handling her fans. Still some times things go out of her hand but normally she is very patient in dealing with such situations. "I am very understanding and patient but some times I go nuts and cannot behave like a normal human being. Don’t think that the artist is what he looks like in video clips, after all he is a human being." Asalah explained.

According to the London based daily, Al Quds Al Arabi, in her latest album Asalah cooperated with gulf singer Mohammed Abdo who composed her lead song entitled [Awkat], Asalah thinks that this cooperation is beneficial for both parts because both singer have his own fans and it will be a great opportunity to combine those fans to enjoy her song.

Many other gulf singers had tunes for Mohammed Abdo but this is the first time that he gives a tune to singer which he did not sing before and that’s why Asalah considers herself special and different than all the singers who cooperated with Mohammed Abdo before.

Nasri has just bought a new home in Dubai right next to famous British soccer player David Bechham’s house. The singer has decided to move her residence from Lebanon to the UAE, stressing that the new arrangements are more suitable to her.

Nasri is in the process of placing the final touches on her upcoming album, which is scheduled to hit stores in the very near future. The singer had made it a point to work with some of the most prominent poets and composers in the Arab world, in order to ensure that the album finds great success. –Albawaba.com
