Although Ariana Grande has previously had to cope with disparaging remarks on her appearance, it appears that the abuse has gotten to the point where she is unable to handle it any more.
During their recent meeting as part of the "Wicked" press tour, Cynthia Erivo was observed trying to console her pal while she fought back tears.
Despite the fact that both critics and fans are still praising the movie, "Wicked" stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande have received harsh criticism.
A video clip of an interview the pair conducted during the movie's press tour went viral on social media, devastating fans.

When the host questioned Ariana how she handles the incessant body-shame comments and how she copes, she broke down in tears in the video as Erivo attempted to console her, suggesting that the journalist had a fair question.
As a result, many X users defended Grande and advocated for a shift away from the focus on celebrities' bodies.
A fan wrote: "I feel so sorry for her; for the past two years she's been suffering from body shaming from people who don't know what it's like to be in that situation."
Someone else commented, "I feel so sorry for her that I cried watching this clip; I can see how much pain she's really in."
Another person responded, "I love Ariana so much, but I also love how supportive Cynthia is; you can feel their connection so much. That's why I loved them in Wicked too; their relationship felt so real."
Someone else wrote: "Oh my god, people really forget that she's a real person behind her character as an actress."
Grande has previously urged people to stop obsessing over her, asserting that they are comparing her current body to a "unhealthy version of herself." This is not the first time she has encountered such criticism.
"I was on a lot of antidepressants, drinking, and eating bad food, and at the lowest point of my life, I looked the way you consider healthy, but it wasn't actually healthy," Ariana posted on TikTok in 2023.
