Turkish actress Tuba Büyüküstün, famously known as her character "Lamees" in the Arab world, made her first visit to Algeria on Saturday.

The pretty brunette was on a humanitarian visit, where she opened the new children's ward at the Nafeesa Hammoudi Hospital in the Algerian capital.

During her visit, Tuba also visited children with cancer in one of the Algerian capital's hospitals.

Once Tuba was done with her charitable visits, she talked to the Tunisian media in a press conference at the Sofitel Hotel Algiers.

The Goodwill Ambassador said that "my goal today is to give children permanent happiness," adding that she's in Algeria to provide children with the best medical care, in addition to increasing the level of communication with hospitals in order to grant better treatment for children's physical and psychological illnesses.

Tuba also told the press that she's fully prepared to participate in any acting role, may it be in theatre or cinema, as long as it's relevant to the welfare of children and improving their lives.

The actress spent a short 48 hours in Algeria before returning to her work commitments in Istanbul.
