Jordanian director Mazen al Kayed is currently shooting his series Madinat al Hothooth (City of Opportunities) scripted by Taleb al Saadoun, produced by Saudi TV and costarring a number of Arab artists.
Participating in the series from Saudi Arabia are Ali al Sabee’, Samir al Naser, Said Quraish, Ibrahim al Hasawi, Fares al Khalidy, Abdel Baqi Bakhit, Fayez al Malki and Ali al Madfaa. From Syria Zuhair Abdel Karim and Sabah Ebaid will participate while Mohammed Awwad and Mohammed al Abbadi from Jordan will also participate. Actress Ghuzlan from Morocco will represent her country with her debut in a Saudi series.
The 20-episode series is about a knight who finishes a course of training and secures the title of best knight in his tribe but he has no self-confidence and thinks life is just an opportunity.
The most prominent merchant in the village (Ali al Sabee’) supports the knight by telling him that the sky does drop gold or silver as rain and so one has to work hard in life. The knight responds to the advice and starts working but he fails. He is then spurred to travel in order to find an opportunity passing through six villages.
