As reported by apanews.com, actress Angelina Jolie will be participating in upcoming Sudanese documentary ‘Kandakat’. The feature will be about the history of Sudan, and the role of women and queens in the country.
The film aims to explore the history and civilisation of Kush, Kerma and the ancient Begrawia in Northern Sudan. Abdul Rahman Ali Mohammed, director of the General Authority for Antiquities and Museums in Sudan said on Thursday that ‘the film is a kind of promotion for tourism in Sudan, and the definition of Sudanese civilisations’.
Sudanese officials confirmed that international star Angelina Jolie will indeed be in Sudan towards the end of May and Al-Raya newspaper reports that she will star alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Berri Larsson. The documentary is set to be will be directed by Oscar winning Alejandro Gonzalez.
