After being postponed for 4 years, scenarist Midhat Aladel assured that prominent Egyptian singer Amr Diab has signed the contract for the leading role in the new movie (Al Mutamared) “The Rebellious”. The movie is going to be directed by Sherf Arafa and revolves around a singer who walks his way to stardom. Amr denied that the movie demonstrates his life story; however, it will include some of the events that happened with him during his career.
The female leading part is not going to be given to a famous actress but a female actress will be chosen through a contest that will be declared later. The movie will be romantic and will include many songs by Amr Diab.
The film will mark Diab’s second experience in the acting world. The story of the film is still in its writing stage, but Amr has already taken a general overview of the theme of the film, which he will begin shooting the scenes for once the scenario is complete.
The latest musical album for Diab entitled “Laili wa Nahari” (My Night and Day) made significant changes in the record market in Egypt after hours of its release. The album is the first for Amr with his new production company Rotana and includes 10 songs.
Amr’s fans were queuing in front of record shops to get his new album while the Egyptian radios kept airing his new songs. This is the first album for Amr after a long 17-month absence. –Albawaba.com
