After returning home to Cairo from a tour around the Arab world, Egyptian singer Amr Diab began preparations for the filming of two songs in the form of video clips from his latest album. The first song “Kinzi” (My Treasure) will be a special dedication to his daughter Kinzi, which is to be directed by Sherif Arafeh.

According to the Egyptian weekly, Nogoom, Amr will also prepare a music video for the song “Tikdar Titkalim” (You Can Speak) under the direction of Tareq Iryan. Amr announced that he will not launch any of his music videos at the time and instead will wait for the grand opening of the on Alam Al Fan's new Mazzika TV channel.

Two months ago, the singer had also filmed the song “Ana Aish” (I’m Alive) with an English director in London. Amr's latest album "Alim Albi Al Gharam" (Teach My Heat To Love) features twelve songs, which were written by a number of prominent poets. The new album features Amr in a new look and music styles. He combined Tango, Jazz, Techno, and eastern genres all in one.

Amr revealed that the making of the album cost over 10 million Egyptian pounds. Rumors had it that out of the 10 million Egyptian pounds 8 of were paid to Diab. The remaining 2 million went into the cost of shooting a music videos and wages for the writers and composers, recording, and advertising. “Alim Albi Al Gharam” is shot in London and will be launched on the new Mazzika TV channel. The song is written by two poets, Baha Al Din and Mohammad Walid Jalal, and composed by himself alongside prominent composer Khaled Izz.

His new album features al Mizmar (an eastern musical instrument similar to the flute) to the outside world in a modern style particularly after he included the Tabla (drum) in his song “Habibi Wala Ala Baloh” (My Love is Not Paying Attention). The new album will include music close to Muwashahat (Terza Merza). Diab has been working with poet Ayman Bahgat Amar on his new song Min Haqqi (It is My Right) through which he wants to convey a clear, true and interpretive message that Palestine is an Arab country and Jerusalem is an Arab city and both belong to Arabs.

Diab has decided that from now on he will record all future albums in Europe amidst strict security in order to be sure his tapes will not be pirated and his songs dispersed everywhere before he announces any release. Amr expressed his rage at the fact the he is the only singer who has experienced such occurrences where at least one song is somehow stolen and is out to the public forcing him to exclude it from a new release. Amr said that he plans to record his new albums in Europe where they have more advanced recording studios and strict security. –Albawaba.com
