We woke up this morning (Tuesday) to our Facebook feed being flooded by the latest Egyptian viral music video, “Al Qahira”.

The new Amr Diab single featuring Mohamed Mounir took social media by storm and had everyone going crazy about it. And while the premise of the song was noble, the video, however, didn’t seem to convey that whatsoever.

For a video that’s all about “Al Qahira”, we don’t really get to SEE Cairo aside from a couple of skyline shots. We’re not even talking about showing the “real” Egypt and tackling the problems Egyptians face, but it doesn’t even show ANY of the famous Egyptian landmarks, streets or tourist attractions or any “Cairenes” for that matter, except for the artists and the band.

We think that the song is cute and we would definitely listen to it on the radio, but we honestly believe that the music video had a lot of wasted potential and could have been so much more than that like some of the INCREDIBLE #ThisIsEgypt videos we’ve seen in the past couple of months.

Yay or Nay? Let us know what you think of the music video in the comments below.
