ALBAWABA - In her first media appearance after a long absence of more than ten years, Lebanese artist Amal Hijazi opened up about personal and artistic life.
She said that one of the things that left a deep mark on her life was her experience with cancer and her decision to wear the hijab, which she later decided to take off.
Amal Hijazi explained that she was diagnosed with cancer more than a decade ago, but chose to live this stage in silence, away from the media.
She emphasized that, despite undergoing chemotherapy, she continued her artistic activity and presented songs without hinting at her suffering to her fans.

The singer stressed that her decision to wear the hijab was not linked to her illness, as some believed, but rather came after a full recovery, when she felt an inner need for serenity and a closer connection to the true meaning of life.
She also indicated that her decision to remove the hijab later was not the result of external pressure, but rather an act of honest self-reflection.
