Rumor has it that it’s all about the money for Syrian actress Amal Arafa, who turned down a role in “Haqaeb”  (Bags) when the showmakers didn’t give her the amount of money she was hoping for.

According to Elaph news, the Syrian actress was listed as one of the leading actresses in the social drama, but soon pulled out of it when financial grounds weren’t met between the two parties.

Amal was to play the significant role of Syrian actor Bassam Kousa’s daughter.

“Bags” was written by Mamdouh Hamada and directed by Al Laith Hajjo. The series follows a family who flees Syria because of the terrible ongoing war.

We think turning down this role wasn’t such a biggie for Amal, as she’s currently filming a new drama “Al Ghirbal” with director Naji Tu’mi, and taking part in the satirical drama “Bouq’at Daw” (Spotlight), another drama titled “Al Qurban” and another one named “Sarkhit Rouh” (Cry of the Soul).
