International French Glamour Magazine has selected Lebanese singer Maya Diab's #PinkStands4 among THE most influential breast cancer awareness campaigns worldwide.
The beautiful starlet joined forces with Lebanese actress Nidal Al Achkar, beauty specialist Hala Ajam and fashion specialist Hadia Sinno to bring the life-saving campaign to life on Tuesday 30 September.
According to Glamour, this is the first time an Arab celeb has used their fame to raise awareness of this vicious disease. And they're spot on! Pinkstands4.com stated that "For the very first time in the Arab world, different women from different backgrounds have united to stand against breast cancer."
But the campaign hits closer to home for some more than others: Laila Ajam, Mirna Al Sabbah Nadine Makari have all had their own battles with cancer.
The team's goal is to draw women's attention to the fact that one in eight women is affected by breast cancer.
Their second aim is to show that we're all one and the same. The campaign was made more personal by inviting each woman to post a similar picture to the one below, using the hashtag #PinkStands4:
