Ali al-Mohaimeed’s art tells a story, his sculptures and fine prints lead the viewer on a journey of discovery.

Born in Bahrain in 1945, this artist went on to become a member of the country’s fine arts society, he now holds prominent positions in Bahrain’s various art institutions.

His emotive work is also on display at Bahrain’s national museum, signifying his role as one of the country’s favorite artists.

The artist’s creations are a reflection of his natural talent, they portray Mohaimeed’s distinct flair for sculpting, painting and printing, the media he prefers.

“You have to be an artist to produce a piece of sculpture. You have to plan, sketch and then sculpt,” he says.

Mohaimeed’s creations are a synthesis of color and printing, each complimenting the other for an unrivaled visual effect.

The artist is serious about his craft; he claims that his success stems from the mastery of his tools, the sculptor’s chisel and the artist’s brush help him to create the masterpieces he is known for.

Mohaimeed integrates unlikely elements into his work, letters and calligraphy make cameo appearances in his creations.

The words and letters are obscured and hidden amongst the artist’s work, however the effect is visually stunning for his viewers.

The meanings behind these words, which remain a mystery to everyone but the artist himself, are perhaps the most precious aspect of his art.

“It is merely a formation of letters, but in effect it has precious connotations for me,” he claims.
