Alexandria Library will screen the most important films which participated in Cannes International Film Festival over the past years synchronously with the current 55th session of the festival. This will take place as part of a program which includes similar portrayals at other international festivals.
The Library’s Arts Program director Maestro Sherif Mohyiddin confirmed that his library would launch other programs immediately after Cannes, Venice, Berlin and other festivals are held to familiarize viewers with the various cinema and experiences included in such festivals. Also an expo will be organized in addition to film releases.
The program includes screening 10 films from the world’s 7th art classics particularly the Italian film Rome, an Open City, British film The Third Man, two American films Taxi Driver and The End of the World. This is in addition to the Japanese film The Warrior’s Shadow, polish film Iron Man, Turkish film The Road; Danish film Billy, the Gibsy, Australian film Piano and Yugoslavian film Underground.
The library will organize an expo about Cannes festival posters over the past 50 years and a book will be printed and entitled Cannes Festival Directory and Masterpieces -- Albawaba.com
