ALBAWABA - Netflix is once again under fire across social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter) after a seductive scene from its new series, Alexander the Great.

The scene in question caused quite a stir across social media because Alexander was seen kissing another man raising questions if the Former King of Macedonia was bisexual or gay in the first place. Netflix is no stranger to causing controversy when it comes to making documentaries.

For example, Egyptians and historians received its Cleopatra rendition badly as they saw it as disrespectful to their culture with producers and staff calling Cleopatra "Black".

Users took to X and stated their opinions on the matter:

"Netflix made a new documentary about Alexander The Great. Within the first 8 minutes, they turned him gay."

"Pretty sure Netflix didn't "make"  Alexander The Great gay."

"The Rights are losing their minds because apparently, they don’t know that Alexander The Great was famously bisexual."

Several users online claimed that Alexander The Great used to be "Bisexual" or "Gay" slamming anyone who says otherwise.  According to The Economic Times, Alexander was reluctant to have sexual relationships with women but was married to three and had children with them.

On the other hand, What's on Netflix claimed that there is no concrete historical evidence that Alexander was gay.

Netflix describes the series as a six-part docuseries that explores the path of Alexander The Great following his father's assassination as he takes his country into dominance by obsessing over defeating the Persian King Darius, and his ambition led to his claim of the largest Western empire in history, from Greece to part of India, in just under six years.
