Egyptian film star Ahmed Zaki is gearing up for his latest film Housh Adam which explores the life history of poet Ahmed Fuad Nagm which was written by the poet under the title al Fagoumi.

“I accepted to play the starring role in the film and I am waiting for the screenwriter Mohsen Zayed who is currently wrapping up the script. In the film which will be directed by Ali Bader Khan I will appear as a new character different from all the characters I played before which will surprise my audience,” Zaki told the UAE daily al Bayan.

He added, “Housh Adam tells the story of poet Ahmed Fuad Nagm written by the poet himself under the title al Fagoumi. I imagine that this drama rich character will lead me to big success but a different type of success. The forthcoming phase will witness the beginning of shooting two films; Housh Adam and Mafia scripted by Medhat al Adel and directed by Sherif Arafah. Ahmed al Saqqa will play starring roles in the two films along with me.”

Meanwhile, Zaki sent his regrets for not accepting to play the starring role in the film Maali al Wazir (His Excellency the Minister) directed by Samir Saif. The film screenwriter Wahid Hamed reiterated that he depicted through the film a new style in tackling an important issue in the movies and perhaps that was the reason behind Ahmed Zaki’s reluctance to accept it.

For his part, Zaki attributed his regrets to the fact that he has been busy with many film projects that prevented him from dedicating his full time for this film as, according to him, he is not used to perform in two films simultaneously no matter what the reasons may be -- Albawaba.com
