Veteran Egyptian actor Ahmad Ramzi put his cast and crew in a tight spot recently, when he refused to wear a suit with a bow tie for a wedding scene in his latest series, Wajh El Qamar (Face of the Moon).

It looks like the aging actor is having a hard time with the maturing process. According to Al Jumhuriah newspaper, he insisted that he dress more casually for the wedding scene, suggesting he wear a hardly buttoned shirt without a tie.

Incidentally, this ‘casual look’ was Ramzi’s trademark during his younger years, in the 50’s and 60’s.

However, soon after the argument started, the crew interfered and the actor revoked his decision.

But, it wasn’t easy.

It was with ‘great difficulty’ that Ramzi changed his mind, reported Al Jumhuriah, but eventually the 23-part series went on.

Meanwhile, Ramzi’s character in the series, Mustafa Qoura, is a billionaire husband of the character played by actress Faten Hamama, who had in reality gotten Ramzi the role.

In the series, Mustafa goes back to Egypt, his homeland, after a 20 year absence. Upon his arrival, he stars looking for his family and friends, and when he finds them, he does not get the welcome he expects.

Wajh El Qamar was written by Majida Kheirallah and stars the aforementioned names as well as Jamil Rateb, Ghada Adel, Wael Nour and more.

Funding for this series has so far reached a whooping 6,000,000 Egyptian pounds. It has been sold to 20 different Arab TV stations. – Albawaba.com.
