Former world famous Squash player and current singer, Ahmad Barradah, announced that he intends to marry prominent Egyptian actress Halla Shiha in the very near future in a small wedding ceremony in one of his friends houses. Barada added that only a short list of people will attend the wedding party, due to the fact that he and Hala want a small and cozy wedding.
Barada said that he found all what he wished in a woman in Halla. Saying that she is very kind, logical, down to earth girl. The two have gotten engaged after denying any form of bond between them to be more than a friendship. The couple held their engagement among a small circle of very close family member wanting the occasion to be as private as possible.
Ahmad stressed that he did not want their engagement pictures to be released to the press and wanted them to be kept private, saying that when he and Hala are married they will release them. The couple’s relationship had began with them becoming friends and then progressed to the point that they realized they could not live without one another.
Recently Barada had denied circulating rumors that he is engaged to Hala, saying that the news holds no truth and that he is currently preoccupied with focusing on his career as a singer.
Ahmad noted that he is placing the final touches on his new album, which will be released soon, disclosing that each song talks about a realistic issue that anyone would face in real life.
The new album, entitled Hikayat, will include ten songs one of them, “Kolloh Min Oyounak”, which will be shot as a music video clip. Barada expects success for his new album especially that one of the album’s songs was chosen among the songs to be presented for the World Cup Tournament in 2010 if it is to be held in Egypt.
According to the London based Elaph, Barada revealed that he is putting off accepting new acting offers due to the fact that he wants to concentrate on his singing career.
Being a sport's celebrity for more than 8 years, Brada could not stand being away from the scenes after his retirement and decided to enter the music and acting world. Ahmad is currently preparing for the release of his first album "Lailet Hayat" (A Night Out of Life), which he will debut with in the very near future.
Ahmad recorded the album, which is composed of nine songs, in France. The songs are written by a number of poets like Sharif Taj, Hani Al Sagheer, Baha Al Din Mohammad, and Ahmad Ali Mousa; and were composed by Algerian composers. The new release also features a duet sung with a French singer.
Ahmed Barada retired on August 2001 due to inability to recover from back injury after being stabbed twice in the back by a mystery assailant, and sought medical treatment in Germany and France.
The Egyptian Censorship Committee has refused to accept the new film “Siko Siko” costarring Hala, which tackles the issue of sex education taught in schools, unless 18 scenes are deleted. The committee stressed that it will not give the green light to the film unless all the unfit scenes are removed and a new name is given for the film.
This is the first time in 20 years that the censorship committee demands this many deletions from one film. The committee stressed that the creation of any film with such sensitive themes as teaching children about the nature of sex is in itself very inappropriate for an Arab audience and does not go with social standards.
The writer of the film stressed that the film is an educational one that enlightens the community and that he was in shock with the report given by the Censorship, which simply means destroying the film entirely in terms of meaning and ideas. He added that the film tackles important issues that reflect problems in our society in a very serious manner and it does not display any sexual or inappropriate scenes. –Albawaba.com
