Initially, Ahlam appeared sympathetic towards Syrian star Abeer Sabry for the verbal assault she went through while visiting the Emirates. Now, the UAE songstress is speaking up in support of the woman that attacked Abeer and her friend Ferial for their "indecent form of dress".

The Queen posted a surprising, and seemingly contradictory from her former sentiment, message to her Facebook page.

“We all demand to honor the Emirati woman, #The Emirati woman video.. #you were raised very well,” she wrote.

She also added, “We apologize for Abeer because of what happened. However, we demand to honor the woman, not to punish her. She only did that because she loves her country and religion. I think she was outraged because Abeer did not give her any response. Abeer must know that she is mistaken and must apologize."

Abeer defended the outfit she was wearing at the shopping center checkout. According to Emirates 24/7 News, "The actress claimed she was wearing a 'long black cotton dress' that wasn't striking or offending in the least."

The woman videotaped her shouting incident and now may face charges, not for the harsh words, but for filming the celebrities without their permission.

Ahlam obviously isn't afraid to make some enemies in the entertainment biz by taking a stance against her fellow artists, but let's be honest, she has sported some ensembles that have also surely made her conservative co-patriots blush. Is the pot calling the celebrity kettle black?
