The Egyptian Interpol arrested Lebanese singer Suzan Tamim after a request was sent by the Lebanese Interpol. Egyptian authorities are still negotiating handing Suzan in to Lebanese authorities. Suzan’s indictment by Egypt’s Interpol was based on the Lebanese request, but she was then released after the Lebanese Embassy in Cairo ordered her acquittal. Adel Ma'touq, Suzan’s former business manager filed a lawsuit accusing her of stealing 350 US dollars and fleeing to Egypt.
Adel stressed that he is determined to have Suzan prosecuted and even detained. Adel has been haunting Suzan for almost a year, the main reason being that Suzan had broken a contract between them. Adel, who owns a production company is determined to have Suzan pay for breaking the contract and has been trying to stop all her entertainment activities.
Adel also claimed that Suzan is legally married to him and he has the right to prohibit her from leaving Lebanon. Adel revealed that he owns legal documents that prove their marriage and insists on taking actions against the singer who has been running away from him.
Suzan denied the accusation in front of the Egyptian police and said that Ma'touq was only her business manager and not her husband. The Egyptian Interpol is currently studying the case and will decide later whether to hand her in to the Lebanese police or not.
Lebanese security officials have sent a formal request to Egypt ordering that they send Suzan back to Lebanon to stand trial.
Tamim has denied accusations that she stole the 350 thousand US dollars from Adel, who claims that she is married to him. The singer denied all allegations against her stressing that she will prove her innocence.
The singer revealed that everything that is happening to her is part of a conspiracy to ruin her image and career. She added that the intervention of the Lebanese Embassy is proof that she is a victim to a demeaning scheme by sick individuals.
The singer added that she was never married to Adel as he claims and stressed that he keeps accusing her of polygamy, which is completely untrue stressing that she is not married to anyone. Suzan is living in a state of extreme depression despite the fact that the Lebanese Embassy has promised to protect her and support her through her ordeal. – Albawaba.com
