Maya Diab loves to share what's on her mind, and when she does, it always happens to be interesting - and controversial!
In an interview with TV host Raghida Chalhoub this week, the Lebanese diva admitted that she has "invented her own religion."
How's that, you ask? The Christian starlet admitted that "I've invented the religion of love because my own religion, and all other religions, have too many issues and requirements, so I've come up with my own faith." Amen.
Why the religious posts on social media then, Maya?
And if that wasn't enough of a sensitive topic to touch on, the mum-of-one went on to say that she believes in premarital cohabitation, adding that she's done it with her now husband.
"Living with your partner before marriage can help both parties understand each other better. That's what I did with my husband before we tied the knot. As for what my daughter should do, that's my own business," she said.
Moving away from taboo topics in the Middle East and on to more appropriate (yet still hot) ones, the 35-year-old singer said that Lebanese singer Cyrine Abdelnour excelled at acting, more than she did at singing.
Maya also told Raghida that in her opinion, Egyptian singer-actor Mohamed Mounir is a much more popular star than Lebanese superstar Wael Kfoury. Ouch!
Will Maya's statements get her into trouble with her fans and celebrity friends?
